WHAT AND WHY PAKEM?
A. INTRODUCTION
The successful achievement of the competence of one subject depend on several aspects. One aspect that greatly affects is how a teacher in implementing the learning. The trend of learning is still teacher-centered to tell or preach. Students are less involved actively in the learning process. As a result the level of understanding of the subject matter is low. In addition, the media rarely used in the learning so that learning becomes drier and less meaningful.
Every child basically has outstanding potential to be developed like a golden pond is ready to be dug. For that, a teacher is expected to explore and develop the potential possessed by every child. One way that can be taken is to manage the learning that can provide the opportunity for children to get involved and express all their potential. One strategy adopted for this purpose is by learning PAKEM. Learning is an active learning that emphasizes the active involvement of students to experience, discover, solve problems so as to develop their potential optimally.
